This project aims to transform the library of Yerevan State Medical University into a modern, multifunctional educational and research environment that enhances academic learning, supports advanced research, and fosters collaboration among students, faculty, and the broader academic community. By establishing a contemporary and inspiring space, the project aims to elevate the university’ s educational potential and contribute to Armenia’ s long-term development in medical education.

Keron Foundation initiated the YSMU Library Renovation project in June 2024, in partnership with Yerevan State Medical University and internationally recognized Dutch architectural firm Defesche van den Putte( DVDP). Following an architectural competition, DVDP was selected to design a facility that meets global standards and addresses the evolving needs of students and researchers.

The project will expand the existing space from approximately 600 square meters to an anticipated 3,000 square meters, shifting the standard library experience to a modern hub for education, study, collaboration, and rest. The design incorporates open and closed study areas, advanced technology zones, group and individual research rooms, and comfortable lounges, all aimed at enhancing the academic experience and fostering a vibrant intellectual community.
