Striving to inform , involve and learn from our stakeholders

With the proliferation of so much online health misinformation , it became increasingly important that all health-sector stakeholders , including CPSO , amplify their information to the public they serve . Here at the College , meaningful engagement has been one of our strategic priorities since 2019 , and we recognize the importance of connecting with our physician membership , their patients , and the broader public on the pressing health issues of the day .

CPSO has several mechanisms to connect and engage with our stakeholders about the important work we do in medical regulation . From our website and various social media channels to our policy consultation process and regular magazine Dialogue , we are constantly striving to inform , involve and learn from our various stakeholders .

Equity , Diversity , and Inclusion

In 2020 , CPSO began bringing equity , diversity and inclusion ( EDI ) issues in health care to the forefront through our communications with the profession and our staff . In 2021 , we made a more deliberate and conscious effort to apply a thoughtful equity lens to our core work as a regulator . This initial progress was detailed in our 2021 EDI end-of-year report , and we were pleased to recently present our 2022 report that centred around the themes of 2SLGBTQIA + health and anti-Black racism .

Throughout 2022 , CPSO communicated its ongoing commitment to supporting physicians in creating an environment free of racism and other forms of discrimination , where people feel safe when receiving and accessing health care , and where providers feel safe and respected providing health care .
