In April, the Chamber of Commerce of Spain and the Secretary of State for Trade signed the agreement to implement the Programme to Support the Competitiveness of Retail Trade, which includes measures to support the competitiveness of retail trade throughout Spain, as part of the general support plans of the Secretary of State for Trade.
In 2021, this programme facilitated the following:
The adaptation of small enterprises to new commercial formulas and consumer habits.
SME and entrepreneur training in key strategic fields for commerce( digital marketing, e-commerce, sales techniques, etc.).
All actions were carried out through the network of territorial chambers and in partnership with the most representative associations of interest to the sector or corresponding commercial areas, in collaboration with the autonomous communities.
A call for aid was also made to local councils, and raised 1.6 million euros for the implementation of investment projects to drive the modernisation and sustainability of local commerce.
A total of 26 projects were selected, which generated an induced investment of close to 2.5 million euros, and benefited nearly 4,000 businesses in 9 Autonomous Communities.
Encouraging sales in commercial areas, by implementing innovative campaigns and developing platforms.
