Equity , Diversity , and Inclusion
2021 was an extraordinary first year for CPSO ’ s formal equity , diversity , and inclusion ( EDI ) initiatives . Adopting anti-racist , anti-oppressive frameworks is not an adjunct to the work we do ; it is fundamental to us fulfilling our mandate as the regulator of Ontario ’ s physicians to serve and protect the public interest . Our vision is Trusted Doctors Providing Great Care , and equity in health care is critical to ensuring barriers are removed and access to quality health care is available to all . We listened , learned , and achieved more than we thought possible in this first year , even amidst the complexities of the pandemic . As you can read about in our 2021 EDI Report , which we launched at our December Council meeting , this initiative touched nearly every aspect of our work .
