Even in the face of a global pandemic , wishes were still happening throughout 2021 . It ’ s because of our dedicated volunteers , donors and community that makes the impossible , possible . For 39 years , Make-A-Wish ^® Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia has proudly served 57 counties in western , central and northeastern Pennsylvania and West Virginia . Since its inception in 1983 , our chapter has granted more than 20,000 wishes , at zero cost to our wish families . We operate solely through generous donations of individuals , corporations , organization and foundations , as well as with the help of nearly 700 volunteers , including our Board of Directors .
