ACTSAFE INJURY PREVENTION WEEK
To celebrate Actsafe’s 20th year in the business of helping to keep workers safe, a
new digital safety initiative was launched- the Actsafe Injury Prevention Week
(AIP Week). The rationale behind the launch of an annual week-long awareness event
was to create a dedicated timeframe to call attention to specific issues and direct our communities to Actsafe’s
safety resources. Each year AIP Week will highlight preventable industry injuries within different sectors of production
work.

3. Stimulate Positive and Relevant Conversation
2018’s week-long campaign was entitled ‘Back Here,
Safety Matters’ and focussed on the leading causes
of injury in BC’s motion picture industry and its workers:
material handling around vehicles. 5 tactics were
implemented to drive the campaign; billboards and
posters; digital media; social media and contesting;
experiential marketing and PR. The engagement on social
media during the campaign week, and subsequent
increase in website traffic, indicated a positive reaction to
the new initiative which we will continue annually.
