The Brook grazier Darcy O’Brien and NQ
Dry Tropics Senior Field Officer Linda
Anderson review project paperwork.
THIS year, we launched a $1 million peer-to-peer
demonstrations program focused on sharing erosion
prevention knowledge and improving pasture condition.
Graziers could access up to $50,000
to carry out work such as riparian
fencing, erosion control, managing
grazing pressure, protecting sensitive
landscapes, or managing water – and
share results with neighbours as part of
the review process.
“This funding opportunity promotes
peer to peer learning by supporting
graziers to demonstrate their
methods and results to neighbouring
landholders,” Grazing Team Leader
Jared Sunderland said.
“By demonstrating what they did
and how they did it, graziers will be
supporting their local communities to
build knowledge about keeping soil on
the land and improving water quality.”
