FACILITATING THE TRADITIONAL OWNER MANAGEMENT GROUP
For more than 15 years we have facilitated and supported the Burdekin Regional Traditional Owner Management Group ( TOMG ) to help ensure traditional ecological knowledge and land management techniques – developed over tens of thousands of years – are incorporated into decision making and on-ground works . The TOMG offers representatives from all 16 regional Traditional Owner groups a forum to discuss issues about country and support each other to find solutions .
Three TOMG meetings were held this year , with representatives from several groups in attendance . They met with our staff to discuss project partnership opportunities .
