Manrell Hall & the Senior School Athletics Centre
Early in the school year, on September 11 2015, more than 1,000 excitedly gathered to celebrate the official ribbon-cutting and opening of Manrell Hall and the Senior School Athletics Centre. Ushering in a new era for our school and campus, it was a proud and historic moment— the culmination of 12 years of discussions, planning, design, fundraising, construction and more.
The vision for the Campus Master Plan embodied two principles: the essence of our campus would continue to reflect“ buildings in a garden,” and the revitalized campus would be much more cohesive— a place where all parts would fit together to form a whole.
Manrell Hall is now the very heart of the school, a space that accommodates the entire Crofton House community yet is still intimate. It is the place we gather to acknowledge traditions, commemorate special events, celebrate joyous festivities, and where Senior School assemblies take place – supported by the latest technology, video screens and dedicated support from our Information Technology team.
Equally, the space plays a role in the daily life of the school— where students and staff come together each day to connect over healthy lunches prepared by SAGE Dining Services. Lunchtime has become a tradition the entire CHS community quickly embraced, the idea of taking time to eat and enjoy one another’ s company over a meal – and especially Dessert Fridays.
Adjacent to Manrell Hall, our new Senior School Athletics Centre features a state-ofthe-art gymnasium with a spectacular floor that proudly boasts the new Falcon logo. The new fitness centre, with its rooftop space and view into the gym, completes the school’ s philosophy of encouraging every girl to be physically active from an early age.
Our superb new facilities are profound testament to a long-term vision for the school that has been steadfastly supported by our community. A tribute to the dedication and the generosity of that community, these facilities have already— in an extremely short time— left an indelible mark on our campus, and are making a real difference in everyday life at Crofton House School.
