The 2015-2016 school year was another exciting
year of achievement and growth at the Carlos
Rosario School.
We completed our five-year strategic plan
giving us crystal-clear guidance to best serve
our students, community, and expand for the
future. Once again, the Carlos Rosario School is
proud to achieve Tier 1 Charter School status and
to be recognized as one of “Washington, D.C.’s
Top Workplaces.”
We are empowering our students with new
classes like our Technology Academy class,
IT Fundamentals class, and a Math for Life &
Work class. The Carlos Rosario School launched
exciting initiatives that will strengthen our
entrepreneurship program by involving local
business leaders in targeted workshops, a
speaker series, and one-on-one counseling. We
are pleased to report that our arts integration
program is taking off and we are now partnering
with the Phillips Collection, The Writer’s Center,
The Shakespeare Theater Company, and the
Smithsonian to name a few.
Our students impacted the community in many
positive ways. They collected food and funds to
assist neighborhood organizations. They made
time in their busy schedules to participate in a
community cleanup initiative, to volunteer at
food banks, to march with survivors of domestic
violence, and to stand side-by-side with those
oppressed due to their sexual orientation.
The Carlos Rosario School hosted a Community
Action Fair supporting limited English proficient
voters and connecting them to opportunities
for civic engagement. We served as a One-Stop
Enrollment Center for DC Health Link resulting
in over 450 community members signing up for
affordable healthcare and learning about their
options.
We look to the future with excitement. Guided
by our new strategic plan, the Carlos Rosario
School will strive to expand and to find
innovative ways to serve more students in the
region. We will continue to strengthen our data
collection & analysis, implement leadership
development initiatives, and enhance our civic
engagement.

the immigrant community. We invite you to
