CONCLUDING REMARKS
This report summarizes the sponsored research and technology transfer activities of
Özyeğin University for the past 5 years. As is evident from the previous pages, there
is significant activity in our organization, all designed to enhance OzU research,
scholarship, and contribution to society.
Fiscal Year 2013 sponsored research activities at the Özyeğin University exceeded
9M TL. This level surpasses the previous institutional record achieved in FY2012. OzU
TTO staff reviewed 98 new projects amounting over 20 million TL and managed all
operations of research expenditure costing nearly 4.6 million TL.
The projects list in Section III reflects the combined efforts of TTO staff and OzU
researchers.
OzU research and sponsored activities continued to experience strong support from the
national funds and provided approximately 67 % of total funding in FY2013. European
Union is another source of funding constituting the 27% of the total funding. In 2013,
by the establishment of TTO, Özyeğin University experienced successes in outreach to
selected firms that have mutual interests in specific technical collaborations leading to
sponsored research.
4 national and 3 international patent applications were filed in FY2013. These
inventions developed at OzU include those in nanotechnology, LED systems, robotics,
thermoelectric, thermal cogeneration, lighting technologies, medical devices and
diagnostics.
For the forthcoming year, OzU TTO will continue to manage efficiently all resources
(people, money, and property) with the highest levels of professionalism, ethics, and
solution-oriented customer service in support of the OzU academic staff.
