One of my strong dreams, prayers, and hopes for our community of Newberg is that all of us who follow Jesus Christ can live into this truth: that we are part of ONE body, Christ’s body, and we are on the same team as we live in and serve our community. I’ve been a part of Newberg for over 20 years, and I love it. It seems over the last decade that God is wanting to bring the churches together in new ways. I can’t think of a better, more practical, day-to-day example of this than Love INC. I’m so grateful that many of the people from our church offer time and service through Love INC. We have people who split and deliver wood so that people aren’t cold in the winter; people spending the night at the women’s shelter building relationships with the women and children there; people serving as teachers and mentors at relational ministry; people who find small ways to make a difference in others’ lives. As a pastor, I’m grateful that Polly Siler and the other volunteers at Love INC make it easy for people from our church to serve. I’m also thankful that when people in need come to our church, we consolidate our efforts as churches to serve them far better than we could on our own at Newberg Friends. THIS IS A GOOD THING, A GOD THING IN OUR COMMUNITY - AND I’M GRATEFUL. - Gregg Koskela Lead Pastor Newberg Friends Church
