October 13, 2007. The presentation was entitled: “Adults and the Bee.”
Susan Ryan, Computer Literacy teacher, presented at the Washington Area Teachers of English to
Speakers of Other Languages (WATESOL) Fall Convention in Arlington, VA on October 13, 2007. The
presentation was entitled: “Two Cool Computer Software Lessons for Adult ESL Learners.”
Sally Crouch, Computer Lab teacher, presented at the Washington Area Teachers of English to Speakers
of Other Languages (WATESOL) Fall Convention in Arlington, VA on October 13, 2007. The presentation
was entitled: “Using Google Images in Word or PowerPoint Writing Assignments.”
Holly Ann Freso-Moore, ESL teacher, presented at the Washington Area Teachers of English to Speakers
of Other Languages (WATESOL) Fall Convention in Arlington, VA on October 13, 2007 during the Adult
Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting’s “What Works” session. The presentation was entitled: “Journaling
for Lower-Level Students.”
Amante Fajardo, ESL teacher, presented at the Washington Area Teachers of English to Speakers of
Other Languages (WATESOL) Fall Convention in Arlington, VA on October 13, 2007 during the Adult
Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting’s “What Works” session. The presentation was entitled: “Using
Scrambled Pictures.”
Dr. Hugo Galindo, Assistant Principal, presented at a conference organized by the Center for Applied
Linguistics on October 1, 2007 called “Current Practices in language Testing.” The presentation
was entitled: “Developing a valid criterion-referenced assessment to measure readiness for the US
naturalization interview.”
Alice-Ann Menjivar, Professional Development Specialist, published an article entitled, “Leave No Stone
Unturned,” in Focus On Basics, November 2007, Volume 8, Issue D. The article discussed ways the
school has been working to address the needs of students who are low literacy or low-educated over the
past couple of years.
