As Chart five (5) illustrates, 63% of ESL students were promoted to the next level of
competency. Chart five shows the entry (pre-test) and exit (post-test) scores on criterionreferenced assessments. Chart six (6) illustrates performance on the CASAS reading test. The
three-digit number represents a scaled score. The CASAS testing organization states that scaled
score increases of two to three points document significant progress.
