2. Advisory Committees:
Student Government Association: The Student Government Association at Carlos Rosario
International was created to ensure student participation, and contributes to the governance and
leadership of the school as an advisory committee. During the 2005-2006 school year, each of
the 60 classes elected one representative whose responsibilities included:

body, faculty and administration;
To support, organize and participate in
school-related and community activities
To collect information from fellow
students about issues and concerns, and
bring them to the administration’s

To participate in all Student Government

student representatives worked together to identify changes they wanted to see in the school and
community. They then planned and executed several activities that addressed the identified
changes or needs. Through this process, student representatives experienced group decisionmaking, public speaking, event planning, fundraising, collaboration with outside organizations
and the benefits of community service. Appendix C highlights some of the SGA successes of
the 2005-2006 school year.
