Annual Intensive Cataract Surgical Training Course 2020 Cataract Course Program | Page 2
Welcome
Welcome to the 16 th Annual Intensive Cataract Surgical Training Course, a program of
the Harvard Medical School Department of Ophthalmology hosted at Mass. Eye and Ear.
On behalf of our Chief and Chair, Dr. Joan W. Miller, we welcome you to Boston and
thank you for joining us for what we believe will be an informative and engaging two-day
course. Our faculty are gifted clinician-teachers drawn from leading academic medical
centers across the nation.
In lectures and in the wet lab, we will be presenting the essential elements of cataract
surgery. Our students are all second-year residents with a diverse set of skills and
experience. We hope the course provides a venue for residents to learn from each other
as well from their preceptors. While our time at Mass. Eye and Ear will be brief and
intensely focused, the Saturday evening reception and dinner provides an opportunity to
network and enjoy our shared sense of purpose.
