Field Days are often a right of passage in grade school; a celebration of another school year gone by. It gives scholars something to look forward to and signals the beginning of summer vacation. Many adults still have fond memories of field days from their own grade school days.

The Higher Institute of Arts and Technology (HIAT) in Merrillville, IN was pleased to celebrate its first ever Field Day in 2022. In their six years of operation, HIAT has never had a field day. Principal Jillian Kemp along with Operations Manager, Natassha Shell, put into motion the events of this special celebration.

They had two bouncy houses, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, dunk tank, grilled food, laser tag, and tons of games and prizes. Scholars, parents and teachers all had an amazing time. Everyone is looking forward to continuing this tradition.
