Trails Grant Streams
1 . Trails Grant for Manitoba – The funds for the Trails Grant for Manitoba arise from interest from a $ 4M endowment , with total annual disbursements estimated between $ 180,000 to $ 240,000 . While this specific funding and grant program will continue in perpetuity , an additional $ 2.5M provided by the Province of Manitoba ( estimated allocation of $ 600,000 per year ) has been allocated to the program until 2025 . Approved projects are expected to be completed within 2 years . This grant is intended for trail associations , municipalities , or other not-for-profit groups , that have the means to provide continued stewardship of trails . Grant applications solely for trail maintenance may receive greater flexibility with regards to matching requirements . Maintenance Grants will be prioritized based on location ( rural vs . urban ) and available support ( i . e . city-based funding for trail maintenance ).
2 . Trails Grant for Winnipeg – The Trails Grant for Winnipeg is an annual grant with an estimated allocation of $ 500,000 per year . $ 2.5M of provincial funding has been allocated to this program . The last intake for this grant is set for 2025 . This grant is largely intended for trail associations , the City of Winnipeg , or other not-for-profit groups , that have the means to provide continued stewardship . Approved projects are expected to be completed within 2 years .
