PRELIMINARY REVIEW
TRAILS MB STAFF
Administrative assessment . Used to identify applications with incomplete documentation or failure to meet eligibility requirements ( as identified in the Trails MB Grant Program Guide ).
APPLICATION EVALUATIONS
GRANT REVIEW COMMITTEE
1 . Each application is reviewed by 3 independent reviewers . 2 . Applications are scored against established criteria .
3 . Based on the average score of the 3 reviewers , applications are then listed in order of highest to lowest .
4 . Scores and recommendations for funding based on available budget are submitted for final review and approval .
FINAL REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF GRANT SLATE
TRAILS MB BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Trails Grant for Manitoba Objectives :
1 . Provide new recreational trail opportunities which includes extending or improving existing trails , developing new trails , and addressing trail gaps and barriers .
2 . Improve the quality of the existing recreational trail network or the user ’ s experience including safety improvements , signage , wayfinding , and barriers to access .
Final review and discussion of proposed grant slate . Once approved , notification and contribution agreements are sent to grant recipients .
Trails Grant for Winnipeg Objectives :
1 . Increase the length of the greenway trail network .
2 . Improve the quality of the existing greenway trail network .
3 . Improve the user ’ s experience .
TRAILS GRANT FOR MANITOBA
3 . Maintenance of the recreational trail network , including pruning , repairing holes , trail beautification , normal erosion / drainage repairs , clean-up , usual repairs ( signage , barriers , fencing , surfacing ) and other maintenance tasks that are undertaken for upkeep of a trail .
