POLLUTION
Identified impacts
Analysis of our activities shows that pollution-related environmental impacts are generally limited and under control in our own operations, given:
• Regulated industrial processes,
• Moderate production volumes,
• And the absence of significant direct discharges into the environment.
The main potential pollution-related environmental impacts lie essentially at the level of the product life cycle, in particular:
• The use of packaging and packaging items, especially plastics,
• The generation of industrial and household waste,
• And the end of life of products placed on the market.
These issues relate mainly to material flows and how they are managed across the value chain.
Preventing and controlling pollution
We are committed to preventing and limiting pollution associated with our activities by integrating these issues into the way we organise our operations and design our products.
This approach relies in particular on:
• Control of industrial processes,
• Strict compliance with applicable environmental regulations,
• Attention to waste reduction, sorting and recovery,
• A continuous improvement approach, particularly regarding packaging and product end of life.
Pollution management is thus part of a commitment to resource efficiency, prevention and environmental responsibility, consistent with our mission to act for sustainable health.
BIODIVERSITY
Our activities involve the use of certain natural resources of plant or marine origin, creating a direct dependency on ecosystem services.
The analysis shows that:
• Our direct impact on biodiversity is limited, given the volumes involved,
• But that preserving biodiversity is an essential long-term issue, particularly for the sustainability of our supply chains.
Biodiversity is therefore approached as a matter of vigilance and responsibility, linked to sourcing choices and the sustainability of the resources used.
