Avoid Alcohol for At Least a Day
Taking alcohol a few hours after Juvederm treatment will aggravate injection
bruising and result in inflammation. In addition, consumption of alcohol
following Juvederm injection has been shown to irritate the injection area.
Besides, alcohol increases swelling of lips when Juvederm is administered for lip
augmentation. Therefore, avoid the drink for at least 24 hours and instead
consider drinking flavored water for hydration.
Treat Your Skin with Care
Inasmuch as you want to apply makeup and other cosmetic products, ensure that
you apply them gently on your skin to avoid bruising. Juvederm requires some
time to settle and it's highly recommendable that your skin stays clear of
disturbances for at least one or two days. In addition, avoid applying exfoliating
agents, glycolic acid products, and retinol for about 2 days to protect your skin
from inflammation. Additionally, don’t use a cleansing brush or facial device that
may inflame your skin after Juvederm treatment.
