Anjali Phadnis Bargaining, savings & gold _ Invisible hand of wom
In a recent trip I was roaming down to Jaisalmer fort trying to capture a traditional Rajasthani
woman with her handcrafts to sell but she rejected to show me her face. Every time I used to
put my eyes on lenses she used to engulf her ghunghat over her face as in I wasn't buying any
stuff from her, there were other women also but no one was smoking "bidi" like her, finally I
made a deal with her and only after then she allowed me to capture herself with that " bidi
jalayale" pose!!

bank but what to do with money kept in kitchen canisters, boxes, below the cushion? Not just
my grandma every Indian woman have their own private bank in kitchen canisters and the
worst impact of demonetization was not the long lines in front of ATM booths but it exposed
the savings of Indian woman she keeps secret for crucial moments in life, only some of them
could return that actual amount into canister banks!

that gold into money in emergency situations.

credit for her skills of handling money and awareness of day today general economical
