Letter from the Editor
In Memory of Linda J. Thomas (September 20, 1943-May 26, 2014)
The inaugural edition of Animus and Intellect is dedicated to the memory of Linda J. Thomas. Linda was a high school English teacher at Glen Rock High School, Glen Rock, N. J. She is survived by her husband, Robert Tomas, her daughter, Lauren Lamendola and her husband Brian.
Linda devoted her life to teaching literature to students, and she possessed the rare ability to recognize and encourage talented writers.
She was the faculty advisor to my high school literary magazine, Mobius, and my creative writing teacher. She was one of my closest friends.
Her work, encouragement, compassion, and humor were the greatest gifts to those who knew her. I can attest to the fact that her knowledge and good faith helped to propel my success. I know that there are many others who gained so much by knowing her.
This edition of literature is a salute to you Linda.
