There have been many momentous milestones in which I’ve felt empowered and proud to be a woman: times like when Orange Is The New Black, women-led- and created, became an award-winning series, or when I helped write and produce an all-women’s cabaret with two other lady warriors that featured songs usually performed by men. But then there are smaller daily moments that help me find my strength as a woman. Every time I use my Thinx panties or Lunette cup as an alternative to feminine products, and every audition that I attend in jeans and my short hair, I reclaim my power over my body and over my well-being. It’s the everyday choices that make my female empowerment a regular state of mind.
