The German Shepherd Dogs

Sergeant Mégnin and an assistant brought two Alsatian Sheepdogs, Helda and Za, to the front lines to assist. (Alsatian Sheepdogs are German Shepherds. It is believed that the name was changed for psychological reasons because the Germans were the enemies at the time.) The captain in charge was doubtful about how useful they could be. However, he explained a problem that they were having locating a Boche (German) outpost at night.
