Though we’re doing everything we can to protect wildlife and their homes, scientists estimate tens of
thousands of species—many of which remain undiscovered and undescribed—disappear every year.
To combat this startling figure, Brevard Zoo participates in several dozen Species Survival Plans (SSPs),
carefully managed breeding programs overseen by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
