At Blue Lagoon there have still been a few catches of Shad on spoon for those who have the time to stick around the whole day and be there when the fish are there . The presence of these Shad have created easy pickings for the Garrick which have been spotted by one or two anglers feeding in the extreme shallows .
There have been a few Kob off the North Bank in the mornings and evenings being caught on McArthy Paddle Tails and also baits . Millions of peckers attack many of the baits being thrown in hope of hooking into Brown Rays and Grey Sharks off Durban . The main culprits being Eel tail Barbel and Maasbanker . The few Brown Rays that have been landed have been larger specimen , weighing between 12kgs and 15kgs .
Smaller Grunter and Stumpnose have been landed closer to Blue Waters Pier , most of which have been caught on Sardine baits . Ushaka has had some decent fishing , with a very respectable Thorn tail Ray of around 65kgs being landed during one of the evenings .
A somewhat quiet week for the anglers on the Bluff , despite the amount of Karanteen and Shad in the area .
South
On a good day at Warner Beach , the Shad seem to be plentiful , but other than that most anglers will be lucky to get one or two . A few lonely Garrick have found the hooks of anglers using live bait . The size of the Shad in the Warner Beach and surrounding areas
