Angela Lakwatsera goes to Dingalan, Aurora December 2020 | Page 10

Dingalan is not the "Batanes of the east"

Lamao cave is not the typical cave we can see, it consist of a dozen cave along the seaside cliff of Paltic constantly pounded by Pacific ocean waves. A few mini-beaches serves as a docking point for boats (bancas). We haven't had a chance to dock and see the inside of the cave due to the heavy pounding of waves and for safety we just look at it from a good distance. Once of the caves has waterfall that trickles outside of it, the site would seem deciptively ordinary.

"Where the mountain meets the sea" A 20-minute uphill trek from White Beach brought us to the viewing deck atop a hill that offers amazing view of Dingalan’s rugged coastline. The vantage point gaves a panoramic picture of the mountains meeting the blue waters of the Pacific on this side of the Philippines. Just like what can be seen in Batanes, the top location offer different spice to local destination of the country.

Dingalan carries its own name, irs own representation. Dingalan is NOT the “Batanes of the East” it is somehow an insult to the people living there to entitle there place "Batanes of the East" and some visitors misunderstood Aurora as Batanes, It is changed as, "Southeast Paradise of Dingalan." Dingalan wants to be known as the with their own nameand not what the internet made them known for. The municipality has a lot to offer, (1) Caves (2) White Beach (3) Rock Formation and (4) Falls. They also have mountain to hike and a good view of Dingalan white beach light house.
