PACFI Cultural Variety Show
lThe Philippine-Australian Community
Foundation Inc. presents the ‘Cultural Variety
Show 2014’ on November 9 at the Tivoli
Showroom, Rooty Hill RSL.
Show is from 2pm to 4:30pm with doors
opening at 1:15pm.
Under the able direction of Vince Villanueva
the show promises an enthralling afternoon of
music featuring an array of local talents.
The show is part of the PACFI project to raise
funds and realise its dream of building a Cultural
Centre – “a place where we can call our own, a
meeting place where friendships will be formed,
stories will be told, talents will be developed,
where artists paint, sportsperson plays, our
cultural heritage proudly displayed, where young
and old ones unite, a place for community
activities and religious festivities.”

NOVEMBER 21
Songs and Thanksgiving
l‘An Evening of Songs and Thanksgiving’
features various Australian and Filipino artists on
November 21 at the Bowman Hall (Campbell
Street) in Blacktown. The event, a project
of Medlife Mission Australia, is committed to
creating a musical expression “that awakens
the soul to the fact that we are all brothers
and sisters under one Creator,” according to
organisers. With the familiar faces of Joe
Languido, Annie Regaliza and Redentor Guballa,
the TEAM Medlife Mission Australia has become
an evolving collaboration of Christian leaders,
musicians and songwriters, all bound by the
common goal of giving voice to those who wish
to express their thanksgiving. Admission is free;
attire is smart casual. The show is from 7:30pm
to 9:30pm.
NOVEMBER 22
WOW Blacktown Multicultural
Festival
lEach year is getting exciting for the
Australian Filipino Business and Workers Club
Inc. Spearheaded by President, Raquel Pellero,
AFBWCI will celebrate its 4th Anniversary at
the Green Village Park (cor. Civic Lane and
Flushcombe Road) in Blacktown on November
22. Admission is free.
This event is supported by the Blacktown
City Council and sponsored by the Western
Union, Cebu Pacific, Chrysler Jeep and Dodge
(Blacktown Branch), Speedfast Australia Pty Ltd
and AMAIA Ayala Land Incorporated as the major
sponsors.
The ‘Ka-look-alike’ competition – sponsored
by WESTERN UNION – is part of this festival
where winners receive cash prize of $1000
1st prize, $500 2nd prize and $250 3rd prize
coordinated by Rod Dingle, WU Community
Consultant.
The Festival opens at 10am with an opening
programme featuring multicultural programme
and entertainment. Raffles, food stalls and
exhibition displays are also available on that day.
Fiesta highlights the search for Ms Wow
Blacktown Beauty Pageant, Ms WoW Blacktown
Charity Queen with a surprise guest artist to
crown the winners.
Winners of the Beauty Pageant will receive a
return airfare ticket sponsored by Cebu Pacific.
Other prizes will also be given to the winners.
There will also be a raffle draw – and the
major prize is another return airline ticket to the
Philippines courtesy of Western Union.
