Fresh from his sold out concerts in Canada, Japan and Dubai, Bamboo will be making his first stop in Sydney as part of the Australian leg of his Crossover world tour. The talented former Rivermaya frontman and current judge of The Voice Philippines will perform his hit songs including Noypi and Ulan. WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY A Family Fun Day to mark the World Down Syndrome Day will be held on March 21 at the Lollipop’s Playland in Parramatta. The Fun Day aims to raise funds for the Down Syndrome NSW while attempting to set a world record (most people wearing the same type of socks worn for a charity). The Family Fun Day is one of events in Sydney's west lined up in observance of the World Down Syndrome Day. WDSD is a global awareness day officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. Each year the voice of people with Down syndrome and those who live and work with them grows louder but the community is invited to do more. Charity socks at the Family Fun Day cost $5. Entertainment for the day will be provided by artists including Marianne Cuasay, Cleo Diana, Criz Guce, Rie Manoloto, Jasmine Montemayor and Hannah Natoli. From 10.30am to 2.30.pm. MARCH 28 - NSW ELECTION DAY Visit www.votensw.info/ 'Pinoy Beatles' show on March 22 The REO Brothers of Tacloban, a purely Pinoy band that’s gaining a global following as one of the finest Beatles tribute act, will be performing at the Burwood RSL Club on March 22. The show – ‘T.Y. Oz’ – is a special thanksgiving and charity concert for the Help-After-Haiyan and community projects. The REO Brothers is a boy band that emerged out of the destruction in Tacloban when the city was hit by the Haiyan super-typhoon in late 2013. There is no other Philippine band who has captured the admiration of the music world just a year after breaking into Manila’s music scene. The REO Brothers hold the distinct honor of holding the first-ever performance of a Philippine Beatle tribute band at the famed Cavern Club in Liverpoo,l England in August last year. The REO Brothers are Reno 24, RJ 22, Raymart 20 and Ralph 18. They are set to perform again in England in the annual Beatle Festival at the Cavern Club this year. The show is organised by the Filipino Community Cooperative Limited with the support of Cebu Pacific in collaboration with the Banag-Banag Inc. Various activities have been lined up in Sydney including a Thailand Grand Festival on March 14-15; a Children's Festival on March 15 at the First Fleet Park. The Philippine-Australian Friendship Association (PAFA) will hold a Fiesta at the Rizal Park in Rosemeadow, Campbelltown on March 14. The fiesta begins with a thanksgiving Mass at 9am at the ‘Our Lady Help of Christians’ close to the park.
