Vivid Live in Sydney

llSee Sydney in a riot of colours. Vivid Sydney is on
until June 9th. This year, Vivid LIVE has commissioned
award-winning international artists 59 Productions to
create a new projected artwork for the sails of the Sydney
Opera House, Vivid LIVE’s most public event. Lauded
for developing ‘the most sophisticated use of film in the
theatre to date’ (Metro) and creating ‘an entirely new art
form’ (The Guardian), 59 Productions will now take the
iconic building on a dramatic journey through time – from
the birth of architecture and civilization through to the
pinnacle of human and technological achievement.
During Vivid LIVE the Sydney Opera House will offer
an exciting range of entertainment and experiences,
including VIVID-inspired menus, late-night live music,

Aquatique’ (also on until June 9th). The Vivid Aquatique
Water Theatre at Darling Harbour is back, only twice the
size, and even more spectacular.
Vivid Aquatique features computer controlled dancing
water jets in a ‘magic wall’ of light and water, specialised
sculptural fountains inspired by Louis XIV’s ‘Water
Garden’ at Versailles, four giant water screens and largeformat video projections, four high-powered full colour
lasers and, for some shows, marine fireworks.
