Government study incentives for Fil-Aussies FILIPINO-AUSTRALIANS can now avail of a study incentive opportunity offered by the Australian government to those who want to improve their professional qualifications or embark on new careers. THE government will pay for the education of those wanting to take any of the three courses currently available: Diploma of Business, Diploma of Management, and Diploma of Community Services. An Information Day about the programme and a new college running the courses will be held at the Pinoy Lounge 2 Resto Bar in Blacktown on July 26. The opportunity is available for anyone who is an Australian citizen from the age of 18 and above with no age restriction. It is ideal for unemployed people because it is Centrelinkapproved and housewives and retirees who have a lot of time in their hand. It is also suitable for people who work part-time and have two days to study and want to get better qualification to advance their careers. There are three incentives to take on this opportunity: Incentive 1. Enrollees will be given a brand new laptop at no charge to help them with their assignments. Enrollees can keep the laptop when they complete the course. There are no examinations or tests. One only has to complete his or her assignments. Those who do not have computer skills will be taught how to use the computer. Incentive 2. Free breakfast and lunch are provided to enrollees on the days they are at the college. One will study only two days per week from 9am to 3pm. There are two classes per week – first class is on Monday and Tuesday, the second class is on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday is coaching day for anyone who needs extra coaching from the two classes. Incentive 3. Those traveling by bus or train to the college will have their transport expenses reimbursed. Those driving will be provided $5 per day for petrol expenses. The programme will not cost the enrollee anything. More details about the programme will be explained on Information Day. Limited seats are available and everyone interested is advised to register their interest early by sending an email to Linda Baisa ([email protected]) or text 0425 335 529 and provide the following information: full name, mobile number, address, and how many seats to be reserved.
