Cyclists move it with LBC
AROUND 30 Pinoy cyclists
braved the morning cold
on June 29 to take part
in a recreational fun ride
to kick off a campaign to
promote fitness and wellbeing in a community project
undertaken by LBC Australia
as part of the LBC ‘Move it
Pilipinas’ program.
THE cyclists come from different
Filipino-Australian bicycle clubs
and organisations who have
banded under a new Fil-Aussie
cycling club, the United Cyclists
Club of Australia (UCCA).
“This campaign is to move
and encourage a FILOZ community to get involved in sports.
On this note, LBC promotes
health and well-being of individuals and families and promotes
goodwill with our local community and building a healthy lifestyle within the community,”
said Delfin Posada, LBC Australia country manager and Director for LBC Money Transfer
Pty Ltd.
The fun ride was held at the
M7 bike path starting from
Rooty Hill Station and included
a time trial challenge topped by
Emman Pineda (time 37:57:00)
followed by James Montecillo (38:02:00) and Jim Sagurit
(39:30:00).
Mr. Posada said that the project is also aimed at scouting talents among young Fil-Aussie cyclists who could be groomed and
trained for future international
prestigious cycling events.
An awards presentation hosted by LBC Australia was held
later in the afternoon at the JIL
Church Function Hall in Arndell
Park, Blacktown.
