Challenges of being a mother

Happy Mother ’ s Day to all mothers out there !
Back in the old days , mothers stayed at home to raise children and take care of their husbands who were regarded as the family ’ s “ foundation ”, the breadwinner .
But times have changed . Gone are those days , and we now see mothers who earn a living for the family and fathers stay at home .
In most cases , when the father works , they just work . The mothers take care of everything else at home . Been there , done that .
When the roles are reversed , mothers work , come home and still do most of what she would normally do when she ’ s a stay-at-home mum . Been there , done that .
A lot of people may not agree with me , but I believe that a father can never replace the role that mothers play at home .
Mothers can take on a lot of responsibilities . Father ’ s can ’ t . I believe it is the mother who should be considered as the foundation of a family because mothers keep the family together .
Take some cases for instance : Whenever there ’ s a problem in the family , some fathers give up . They resort to womanising , alcohol , drugs , and worse , leave the family .
Mothers , however , think differently . Even if she suffered , a mother would try to stick with her husband , make an effort to understand him with the welfare of their children foremost in her thoughts .
Most of the time , a mother would chooses to stay with the father even if he was incapable , irresponsible or incompetent because she would want to keep the family together .

PUBLISHER ’ S DESK

Most mothers take the bullet , sacrifi ce their own happiness for the sake of their children .
The biggest fear I face as a mother is that I may not be doing what is right for my kids ; that I would wake up one day and my kids would turn out to be different from what I had expected them to be .
There is that nagging thought that they might choose the wrong path .
Or I may be worrying myself too much . My children are still young but , hey , it ’ s better to start worrying now before it is too late , right ?
At this point in time , I ’ m just happy that my children are healthy and contented . I let them be kids while keeping in mind that I should always be there for them .
I always ‘’ keep an eye at the back of my head ’’, as they say .
To all the fathers out there , appreciate your wives . You know that your world will stop when they ’ re gone .
To all the mothers out there , the strongest people in the world : Mabuhay kayo !
