COMMUNITY Mexican coronation Henna wins two titles at the Miss Teen Globe 2018 By VIOLI CALVERT WESTERN Sydney’s nineteen-year-old Henna Perez, of Prospect, was crowned Miss Teen Globe Asia 2018 and Miss Intercontinental Queen Asia 2018 at the Miss Teen Globe 2018 beauty pageant in Guadalahara, Mexico on August 4, 2018. Henna also placed second in the pageant's ‘Sports Challenge’ and third ‘Best In Talent’ awards. For the Sports Challenge, contestants were scored on a series of running, jumping, push-ups and squatting competitions. In the Talent segment, Henna danced while she sang ‘The Last Dance’ popularised by Donna Summer. “Since this was my first international pageant, I had to cope with a lot of challenges together, for instance, calling time every day was 8am. “Arriving at a country with no international supporters, I had to fight for myself. “It was easier for the other candidates since most of them could speak fluent Spanish. “I had to create friendships in order to understand each other and co-operate effectively. Henna's earlier pageant titles were Miss Australasia Charity Queen - Breast Cancer Ambassador 2015, Breast Cancer Ambassador in 2015, second runner-up in Mutya Ng Sydney and Charity Queen 2017. Henna is currently doing a Bachelor of Media/ International Studies degree at Macquarie University in Sydney’s North Ryde. She is the youngest daughter of Lilibeth Balingit and Edgardo Perez from Bulacan. Henna has an older sister, Mary Grace Olegario, 39, and a brother Paolo Perez, 31. The Filipino multi-purpose centre at 50 Forge St, Blacktown, is open for community business. Trust board chairman Manny Villion -FM went on community radio 2BACR to make the announcement in an interview with broadcaster Marilie Bomediano that Blacktown Council had approved a Development Approved for use of the centre to a maximum crowd limit of 30 persons at any gathering.
