BICOLANOS devotees of our Lady of Peñafrancia
gathered for their annual Mass at Penrith’s St
Nicholas of Myra Catholic church for the13th
Peñafrancia Festival in Sydney’s west on Saturday,
September 1, 2018.
Organisers celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of
Penafrancia along the Nepean River early this year to
provide time for some devotees to go on a pilgrimage
to the city of Naga in the Philippines’ Bicol region for
the celebration of their devotion to ‘INA” - or ’Mother’.
Among the celebrants were Bicol-bred Vince del
Gallego, newly elected deputy mayor of Hornsby
Shire Council in Sydney’s north shore.
