Ten-year old Laura Ann Budod is all dressed up in her Cordilleran costume as
she waits for the start of the Blacktown City ‘Streets Alive’ Parade. Laura Ann
(9 at the time this photo was taken) was born in Seven Hills, NSW but has always
been in touch with her Cordilleran roots. Her father hails from the Cordilleran
region, north of the Philippines, a place that Laura Ann was able to visit in 2012.
There is a thriving Philippine Cordilleran Association of New South affiliated
with the Philippine Community Council-NSW. Over the past few years, the
