I found that karate helped me, not only with my fitness but also discipline, focus, feeling empowered. "Besides doing the kata and kumite work, we also do breathing/meditation workshops, leadership sessions, weapons training, self defence and performance workshops. This is what I love about karate it is wholistic. I aspire to get my black belt. It is still a long way to go.” The Selorios joined Black Belt Martial Arts Hornsby after Carlo became involved in amateur non-competitive boxing. Carlo, a freelance digital marketer helping small businesses, said: "I've been doing martial arts for almost one year now. I love the discipline that karate teaches. It's good to just get fit no matter what age you are. It doesn't have to be karate or boxing. As long as you're moving, eating well and getting active that could help you live a longer life.” Carlo sa
