PND Ball features Bayanihan Golf: Kalayaan Cup The internationally acclaimed and multi awarded Bayanihan, the national dance company of the Philippines, will entertain guests at the Philippine National Day gala celebration on June 11 at the Grand Pavillion, Rosehill Gardens Event Centre, Rosehill. This year a newly formed Kalayaan Cup Organising Committee will be coordinating the 21st PAL Kalayaan cup golf tournament to celebrate the 118th anniversary of Philippine Independence. It would be held at the new venue, the Riverside Oaks Golf Resort on June 13. PCC-NSW has organised the annual Philippine National Day Ball since 1999 in coordination with the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney. This year, the event will celebrate not only the 118th anniversary of the declaration of Philippine Independence but also the 70th anniversary of Philippines-Australia Diplomatic Relations. The Bayanihan performance in these milestone celebrations is made possible by Consul General Anne Jalando-on Louis with the support of Department of Tourism and Philippine Airlines. To further show off the Filipino brilliance in music, PCC-NSW has invited Filipino- Australian 2015 and 2014 X-Factor winners Cyrus Villanueva and Marlisa Punzalan to perform at the event. The Alliance of Philippine Community Organisations Inc, will hold a Philippine Fiesta experience to celebrate Philippine Independence Day on June 13 at the New Berala Community Centre on Woodburn Rd corner Tilba St. Berala Pasa Doble Fiesta The day includes cultural presentations, food, crafts and performances by various artists. The event is free to the public. Various community organisations are expected to showcase regional culture, traditional practices and games. The Bicol Communities League Inc presents a ‘Pasa Doble Fiesta’ on June 25 at the Blacktown Masonic Hall (Second Avenue, Blacktown). The event gathers the communities from Sorsogon and Albay to join the fiesta in a fun-filled day featuring Bicol food and delicacies, tigsikan, singing, and dancing. A magician will also be performing at the event. This is a free entry event but everyone is invited to buy raffle tickets and contribute to the organisers’ ‘Adopt A School’ program.
