AUSTRALIA DAY 2017

GET set for another treat of great fireworks , carnivals , treats for the kids and a lot of entertainment on January 26 – Australia Day 2017 . City Councils around Sydney West have prepared a day of free events for whole families .
BLACKTOWN . Start time : 4PM . Enjoy all the festivities of Australia Day 2017 at Council ’ s Australia Day Celebrations in Rooty Hill .
Mums , dads , grandmothers , grandfathers , brothers and sisters there is something for everybody at this years Australia Day Concert and Fireworks Spectacular ! Including free amusement rides with the kids corner and the adrenaline zone for the bigger kids , Food trucks , Ute Muster , Dave McKenna Yamaha Stunt Rider , Freestyle Now BMX shows and a fireworks spectacular to close the event .
Featuring performances by Choirboys , Boom Crash Opera and Amber Lawrence .
The Rooty Hill is a 10 minute walk from Rooty Hill Railway Station or can be accessed by car via Eastern Road , Rooty Hill . Limited free parking is available .
3.30pm Gates open on Eastern Road , Rooty Hill with shows starting at 4pm featuring the Shadowboxer , Thunderstruck , Billabong Jam , Amber Lawrence , the Boom Crash Opera and the Choirboys at 8.30pm . The annual fireworks spectacular will be at 9.30pm .
PARRAMATTA . Start your day with a marvel at the skies as we launch Sydney ’ s biggest hot air balloon sky display , with delicious food , kid ’ s rides and roving family entertainment . The Aerial show of hot air balloons start at 6am and is on until 9am alongside the Big
BBQ . The Big BBQ features an array of food stalls with smoked , grilled and basted delights from Australian and international barbecue pitmasters . Cheer on the chefs at the BBQ cook-off , and check out the brand new smokers and BBQ ’ s on display . Presented in partnership with the Australasian Barbecue Alliance .
The Carnivale is on from 11.30am to 5.30pm featuring the iconic CARnivale expo coming to Parramatta for the first time , with hundreds of beautifully restored vintage cars , bikes and trucks on display including original racing cars from Parramatta Park ’ s 1950s racing circuit ! A delight for car lovers , motoring enthusiasts and families alike .
Other events include THE KIDS CRESCENT with a full day of free entertainment , music and workshops plus food stalls and plenty of kid ’ s rides and sideshow amusements and HOTTEST 100 PARTY ( 12nn to 8pm ) in honour of triple j ’ s annual countdown . The Hottest 100 live music line-up showcases upand-coming and established musical talent from Western Sydney and is presented with the support of Parramatta Park Trust through Arts NSW .
As the sun sets , join thousands of people to party as the best in Aussie rock , pop and hip hop hit the main stage , before we ring out Australia Day with a massive fireworks and pyrotechnic spectacular at 9pm !
PENRITH . Australia Day 2017 event will celebrate istory and be all about making what ’ s old , new again . And that ’ s what we ’ ve done – in 2017 we ’ re launching a new style of event and location .
The event will be held at Jamison Park , in the heart of the Penrith CBD , and will be a family fun day , bringing families and the community together to celebrate our rich traditions , and bringing the country to our City .
There will be a great range of fun , free activities for kids and the whole family , including Pavlova decorating , cow milking , bush bands , old-fashioned games , bubble soccer , historical displays , performances by Shaun the Sheep and of course , the traditional Aussie BBQ .
Jamison Park is close to public transport and parking , so getting to the event will be easier than ever .
We invite you to grab the kids and come down to Jamison Park to enjoy five hours of free family fun !
