Espejo in back-to-back win at SBC Masters

Jonathan Espejo from Rouse Hill won for the second time in a row the 2016 SBC Masters Invitational held at The Links Golf Course Shell Cove recently . Jonathan plays regularly at Macquarie Links .
He scored three over par 73 net using his AGU handicap of 9 . He received the Masters Division top prize of $ 700 and trophy . “ I ’ m very happy to win again this prestigious tournament ” said an ecstatic Jonathan .
In the Elite division , Jonathan Parva from Campsie and plays regularly with Jokers Social Golf club was overall champion with his score of net 74 using his social handicap of 16 . He received the Elite ’ s Division top prize of $ 700 plus trophy .
Division runners up with their net scores and handicaps used were Michael Domingo ( net 74 / 4 count back ) for Masters and Albert Florido ( net 74 / 16 count back ) for Elite . Both runners received $ 350 cash each and trophy .
Division second runners were Eric Banguis ( net 74 / 4 ) for Masters and Bryan Bautista ( net 74 / 20 ) for Elite . Both 2nd runners up winners received $ 150 cash each and trophy .
Novelty prizes of $ 50 per hole were awarded to winners of nearest the pins on all par 3 ’ s , best drive & pitch on all par 4 ’ s and longest drives on all par 5 ’ s , sponsored by SBC customers .
Winners were : Rey Garcia ( hole 1 ), Archie Alano ( hole 2 ), Arthur Bandian ( 3 ) Oliver Samson ( 4 ), Chris Cristobal ( 5 ), Jeremy Zabat ( 6 ), Henry Iosefo ( 7 ) John Sabanal ( 8 & 14 ), Maynard Tabungar ( 9 ), Mario Banares ( 10 ), Eric Banguis ( 11 , 12 , 13 & 17 ), Aaron de Leon ( 15 ), Lito Bantug ( 16 ) and Michael Domingo ( 18 ).
The best putter for the day was Dodee Leones who ran away with $ 200 cash prize .
The SBC Masters Invitational was limited to 70 golfers . Divisions were divided into 30 golfers for Masters and 40 golfers for Elite in accordance with their declared and verifiable handicaps .
The 2016 SBC Masters Invitational was sponsored by Megaworld International represented by Liz Angeles , Country Manager for Australia . She congratulated the organisers and thanked them for inviting Megaworld to be the major sponsor . She also thanked the golfers for their full support . In return the organisers presented the Sponsorship Appreciation Plaque to Megaworld International .
BJ Villa , event cocoordinator , thanked everyone for participating in this tournament now on its 3rd year . He also acknowledged the support of Megaworld , the major sponsor and the participation of various social golf clubs , namely PX , Pogi , ParE , Jokers and Fairgolf .
Golf bags , accommodations vouchers , whiskey and other items were given as raffle / consolation prizes for those who did not win in the tournament .
As this writer noticed , everyone enjoyed the camaraderie , sportsmanship and the challenge of the Links Shell Harbour despite its distance . Many participants are looking forward to another series which
the organisers promised to be a more enjoyable and more prizes to win .

FILCOS FAIRFIELD

Meanwhile , the FILCOS Fairfield Golf tournament held at Woodville Golf course on 29 October 2016 was won by Gabby Signey with his net score of 69 strokes using the System 36 method of scoring . He received $ 300 cash prize donated by R . O . Biala & Co Pty Ltd and trophy for his excellent efforts .
Division winners with their net scores were Romy Aquino ( 70 ) for A and Arnie Santos ( 71 ) for B . Division runners up with their net scores were Romy Tablizo ( 71 ) for A and Ernie Corpus ( 72 ) for B .
Division first runners up were Danny Martinez ( 72 ) for A and Romy Bernabe ( 73 ) for B . Division winners received cash prize of $ 150 each , whereas division runners up received $ 100 each and division first runners up received $ 60 each .
Novelty winners with cash prize of $ 20 each were : Kit Stabarbara ( hole 1 ), Gerry Criscini ( hole 2 ), Gabby Signey ( holes 3 , 9 & 15 ), Scott Mclean ( holes 4 & 14 ), Boy Berroya ( holes 5 & 8 ), Neil Narvais ( hole 6 ), Carlos Vallejo ( hole 7 ), Romy Bernabe ( hole 10 ), Aldrin Urfano ( hole 11 ), Ernie Corpus ( hole 12 ), Richard Espiritu ( hole 13 ), Romy Aquino ( hole 17 ) and Carlos Perez ( hole 18 ).
Lina Lofranco , Filcos Fairfield , Inc . President thanked all the golfers for their participation in this fund raising golf tournament . She also acknowledged the assistance of Cris for coordinating the event .
She thanked the sponsors – RO Biala Pty Ltd for donating the major prize , Austral Cargo and the volunteers who assisted in food preparation . “ Hopefully , everyone will continue supporting this event . See you again next year ” she finally said .
