MONEYGRAM has announced its partnership with GCash , the mobile wallet and micropayment arm of Mynt , in a move that promises to further improve financial inclusion in the Philippines .
Through the new united system , thousands of GCash users can now receive money from over 200 countries and territories on their mobile wallet and use the funds instantly for purchasing goods and services online .
According to POEA 2017 data , there are 12 million OFWs spread around the world including Australia , many of whom send a significant portion of their salary to their families back home .
The partnership with GCash eliminates the need for family members receiving this money to go to a MoneyGram location .
They can directly receive any amount on their mobile wallet .
What ’ s more , the money they receive is readily available for purchasing goods and services online .
Between more than 30 million active smartphone users and the growing Internet penetration in the Philippines , the collaboration between GCash and MoneyGram is a powerful strategy that aligns with MoneyGram ' s goal to offer consumers more digital money transfer options .

OBITUARY : Arnulfo V . Pan

January 9 , 1952 - March 26 , 2018
THE Filipino-Australian community mourns the sudden death of one of its most well known and loved supporters recently .

Arnulfo V . Pan , nicknamed Arnul , was fatally struck by a car on March 26 , 2018 , a day after he returned to Sydney to be with his family .
Arnul had recently retired after working for a year as the vice
president of Airport Operations Management Group at Clark International Airport .
At his retirement presentation on March 8 , 2018 , Arnul received a Certificate of Appreciation that paid tribute to his compassion , guidance and outstanding leadership which " immensely contributed to the tremendous achievements that made Clark International Airport one of the most competitive civil aviation complex in the Asia Pacific region ".
It was in Arnul ' s position as country manager of Philippine Airlines ( PAL ) for Australia and New Zealand during 2001-14 that the routing of PAL flights to Oceania grew to what it is now .
During his tenure , PAL resumed flying to Australia in 2001 after having ceased in 1998 .
It was also in this role that Arnul helped various community organisations in their fund-raising events .
Through his representation , PAL donated return tickets to the Philippines as major prizes to worthy projects and organisations .
Before to this position , Arnul was PAL country manager for Indonesia in1995-98 and United Arab Ermirates in 1988- 91 ; PAL assistant vice president - Cargo in 1999-2001 , PAL route manager 1991-95 .
He began his career in PAL in different clerical and supervisory positions in 1974-91 .
Arnul retired from PAL in 2014 and enjoyed a few years ’ break .
He was recruited as consultant of Civil Aviation of the Philippines ( CAAP ) in February 2017 , and assumed the position of vice president of operations at Clark International Airport Corporation until he retired in March 2018 .
Arnul completed a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration - marketing at the Ateneo de Naga University in March 1974 .
He was the one of five children of the late Elena Vargas Pan and Godofredo Pan sr from Goa , Camarines .
Arnul ’ s siblings are brother Elias Pan , sister Fe Elena Pan Castillo , brother Godofredo Pan jr , and sister Dr Thelma Pan Magsombol .
He married Elena Valencia Pan of Sangay , Camarines
Sur , in June 1976 . The family emigrated to Australia in 2001 . Arnul and Elena were blessed with three children and three grandchildren .
Their daughter Arlyn Pan-Lalwani and husband Amit Lalwani have daughter Sophia Leina Belle Pan and son Aaryan Samuel Lalwani . Their son Karl Stephen Pan is married to Maricar Pan . Their youngest , Arnulfo Pan Jr is married to Denise
Guina Pan with a son , Alonzo Drake Pan . •
