Balikbayan box senders
are advised that balikbayan box
must only contain personal and
household effects.
Personal effects are
commodities whether new or used,
for personal use or consumption
and not for commercial purposes,
such as wearing apparel, personal
adornments, electronic gadgets,
toiletries, or similar items.
Household effects, on
the other hand, refers to furniture,
dishes, linens, libraries, and
similar household furnishings for
personal use or family use.
Balikbayan boxes may
be sent up to three (3) times in a
calendar year provided the total
FCA value per sender shall not
exceed P150,000 and the items or
goods sent are not in commercial
quantities.

REACHING OUT THE INDIGENT STUDENTS BY GRANTING SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE
In its aim to show their support and augment the educational needs of the youth, the Provincial Government of Cavite
led by Governor Boying Remulla, thru the Provincial Scholarship Program spearheaded the distribution of educational
assistance held at the Provincial Gymnasium in Trece Martires City on November 06, 2018. A total number of 564
online scholars in the morning and 4,326 students in the afternoon were granted scholarship assistance to aid their
school expenses. The governor reminded everyone that education serves to be one of the biggest investments for
a better future and mentioned the capabilities of the new generations to adjust on modernizations and progress in
the community. Meanwhile, OIC-Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs and PSP Chairman Alvin Mojica
motivated the students to have an outstanding performance and strive hard to finish their studies. Also present during
the scholarship distribution were Governor Jonvic Remulla, Indang Councilor Ping Remulla, Tanza Councilor Lito
Langit and PSP Vice Chairman Ben Golfo who showed their commitment to the event.

Deconsolidators
and
all other participants who use
balikbayan boxes as conduit for
smuggling shall be penalized
according to Section 1401 of
the Customs Modernization and
Tariff Act (CMTA); criminal
prosecution under Title XIV of
the CMTA; and cancellation of registration as deconsolidator or
freight forwarder.
The
penalties
and
sanctions to be imposed against
erring deconsolidators and freight
forwarders are provided under
Customs Administrative Order
No. 1-2018.
The BOC assures the
public that balikbayan boxes not
(PNP), Department of the Interior
and Local Government (DILG),
Department of Social Welfare
and Development (DSWD),
Commission on Human Rights
(CHR), and the Council for the
Welfare of Children (CWC), also
expressed their commitment and
support to the initiative.
The
launch
also
forms part of the 26th National
Children’s
Month
(NCM)
celebration this November with
the theme, “Isulong: Tamang Pag-
aaruga Para sa Lahat ng Bata.”
The month-long celebration
commemorates the adoption of
the Convention on the Rights of
the Child by the United Nations
General Assembly on November
20, 1989, and seeks to instill
its significance in the Filipino
consciousness.

#BeCyberSafe
initiative is one of the promising
practices highlighted in the first
National Child Protection Summit
held last August 23 and 24 at the
SMX Convention Center in Pasay
