The two-day sports event themed “Increasing Impact through Transparency, Accountability and Partnership” was held at the Bacoor Sports Complex. The Thirteen Martyrs team of Trece Martires City won the championship after a tight competition from other teams coming from the cities of Tagaytay, Imus, Dasmariñas, Gen. Trias and Bacoor and from the municipalities of Mendez, Noveleta, Carmona, Kawit, Gen. Aguinaldo (Bailen) and Silang. During the event, a pageant of muses from the LGBT community was held with Ms. Von Camille H. Noble of Carmona as the winner. Ms. Darylvyl Avila, Social Welfare Officer IV gave a short message thanking all the PWDs for their effort to become productive members of the community. She added that the PWDs deserve to be happy especially this time of the year and that the provincial government led by Governor Boying Remulla is making sure that they are well accepted and taken cared of. The highlight of the party was a videoke singing contest which was won by the towns of Ternate, Magallanes and Carmona who bagged the first, second and third prizes, respectively. Everybody went home with gifts from the raffles and the exchange gifts they shared. IN celebration of the International Migrants day observed every 18th day of December, the Provincial Government through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office in cooperation with the Cavite Overseas Filipino Welfare Council held the Cavite Balikbayan Day on December 21, 2017 at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol in Trece Martires City. Highlight of the program is the recognition of Caviteño migrants and OF organizations and their contribution to their fellow OFs and their communities. Gathering more than 150 OFs and migrants coming from different cities and municipalities in Cavite, the event also served as a venue to promote local products like the Maragondon Bamboo, Mendez’ Jacobina and many others.
