ANDRA REMOVABLE ROLL CAGE SPECIFICATION
After extensive consultation and analysis , ANDRA is pleased to announce the release of the ANDRA Removable Roll Cage Specification V2.0 and also clarification of the legality of current removable roll cages in vehicles racing at ANDRA sanctioned events .
Some important points to note are :
• All roll cages that have passed an ANDRA Technical Inspection are deemed fit for competition at ANDRA Sanctioned events until their Log Book expires .
• Both the current Removable Roll Cage Design Specification and the ANDRA Removable Roll Cage Specification V2.0 will be applicable up until 31st December 2016 .
• All roll cages which fabrication is started on between 2nd December 2016 and 31st Dec 2016 inclusive , may either comply with the current Removable Roll Cage Design Specification or the Removable Roll Cage Specification V2.0 .
• From 1st January 2017 , the Removable Roll Cage Specification V2.0 will fully supersede the Current Removable Roll Cage Design Specification . All roll cages which fabrication starts on or after 1st January 2017 must comply with the Removable Roll Cage Specification V2.0 .
• The ANDRA Removable Roll Cage Specification V2.0 makes allowance for construction to either CAMS National Competition / Series specification , or ANDRA Removable Roll Cage Specification V 2.0 .
• A CAMS National Competition / Series Roll Cage must be fabricated from Mild Steel to the specification in CAMS Schedule J ( http :// docs . cams . com . au / Manual / GeneralRequirements / GQ11- Schedule-J-2017-1 . pdf )
• An ANDRA Removable Roll Cage must be fabricated from Chromoly 4130N to the specification in the ANDRA Removable Roll Cage Specification V2.0 .
• ANDRA are also instigating a Roll Cage Joint Homologation Program which will allow fabricators to choose from a range of homologated joints for use in Removable Roll Cage manufacture .
• In addition to this , ANDRA is allowing FIA homologated Dismountable Joints to be used in an ANDRA Specification Roll Cage .
• All roll cages in vehicles whose owner applies for a new Log Book or to renew a Logbook , from and inclusive of 1st January 2017 , must have their roll cage registered with ANDRA using the updated ANDRA Roll Cage Registration form which will be available from 1st January 2017 at www . andra . com . au .
