set up State-Wide High-Speed, low-cost optical fiber infrastructure leveraging existing
electricity distribution companies’ assets;
u
establish scalable ‘Infrastructure-Platform
as a Service Model’ providing, wholesale
bandwidth from up to 2600+ POP’s, on a
non-discriminatory basis, to ISP’S, TSP’s,
MSO, LCO’s and others across the state;
u
provide ‘On-Demand’ bandwidth of 10 –
100 Mbps for households and 100Mbps – 1
gbps for all private sector at an affordable
price;
u
develop sustainable business and revenue
models for last-mile linkages, providing institutional ecosystem with a platform for
delivering products and services;
u
develop a Technology-Ecosystem, conducive of integration with potential national level initiatives such as the National
Optical Fiber Network and existing initiatives such as the State Wide Area Network.
Cost of the Project: Rs 333 Crore
benefits: The AP FiberNet will give connection at Rs.149 per month for an 15
Mbps line to 1.3 crore households. Officials
will get 100 Mbps connection at Rs.999
per month.
Objective: To provide the cheapest internet connection in the world and ondemand broadband connectivity.
