SICHUAN PROVINCE TO WORK WITH
ANDHRA PRADESH
As per the MoU, Sichuan Province in China can now facilitate hassle-free
investments to Andhra Pradesh in industry, trade, education, agriculture,
agro-allied industries and in various other sectors.
I
n a bid to strengthen Andhra
Pradesh’s might on the global
map as an investment destination, the Government of Andhra
Pradesh has entered into a MoU with
Sichuan Province in relation to
mutual co-operation between the
state (Sister State / Province Relations). China Sichuan Province Executive Governor Wang Ning and
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister
N Chandrababu Naidu signed the
papers.
According to the MoU, Sichuan can
now facilitate hassle-free investments to Andhra Pradesh in industry, trade, education, agriculture,
agro-allied industries, petroleum,
chemicals, science and technology
and infrastructure.
This MoU comes as a result of the
MAY 2016
Chief Minister’s visit to China in
April 2015. During his meeting with
Sichuan governor Wei Hong, the
Chief Minister expressed interest in
working with Andhra Pradesh as sister-state and extended his province’s
support to the reorganized state.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister recalled the historical relationship between India, Andhra Pradesh
and China. The Chief Minister stated
that AP has an advantage of deep
water ports which can make the
state a Gateway to South East Asia.
He said the state offers a bouquet of
opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs. “I am extremely happy
that the seminar is coinciding with
the Ugadi festival. I am confident this
will strengthen the ties between
both states,” he added.

Seeking to review the status of existing projects and set up new industries, the Chief Minister invited
Sichuan Executive Governor Wang
Ning to visit Andhra Pradesh at least
once in a year. The Chief Minister
expressed hope that this summit will
give a huge fillip to industries and
create employment, infrastructure
and usher in investments into
Andhra Pradesh.
Appreciating Chief Minister for
being investor-friendly and
tech-savvy, Mr. Ning said that they
will promote several projects to
better the relations between Indian
and China.
Later, 40 representatives from various companies gave presentations
during the Investors-Partnership
Summit.
