summer
art educator institute
June 20 - 24, 2011
In conjunction with the University of Northern Colorado’s Center for Integrated
Arts Education, Anderson Ranch Arts Center offers a unique opportunity for
K-12 art educators to reconnect as artists and earn continuing education credits. Fifteen art educators will be selected to think critically about their dual identities
of artists/educators. Educators will be enrolled in a week-long summer workshop of
their choice in order to focus on personal art-making, and they will also participate
in professional development seminars themed Art Sci: Aesthetics of Inquiry, Experimentation and Discovery. Facilitated by Amy Youngs and Julia Marshall, notable
artists and arts educators, the Institute will be a rigorous and rewarding week of
learning and living in a community of artists.
For details and application visit: www.andersonranch.org/arteducatorinstitute.
Application deadline: January 28, 2011.
Funding support provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. Participants will receive workshop tuition,
housing, meals and a travel stipend.
