Greek Festivals/Games

Greek Festivals were a central part of worshipping the gods. The festivals included various competitions, such as music, poetry, drama, and also in athletics. Some of the most major Greek Festivals involved athletic competitions.

Greek Art

Art in Greece began in the Cycladic and Minoan civilization, and gave birth to Western classical art. Greek Art have five forms. They are:

- Architecture

- Sculpture

- Painting

- Pottery

- Jewelry Making

The Art of Ancient Greece has exercised an enormous influence on the cultures of many countries. Some examples of some of the five forms of Art are:

- The Parthenon

- Athena Parthenos

- Fresco of Crete

- Ancient Greek Pottery

- Greek Bracelets

Some festivals were held in

honor of Zeus. Others were held in honor of Apollo, such as the Pythian games. There was also a festival in Athens, held to honor Dionysus, involved a competition between playwrights.
