Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries
(SFURTI). The sole aim is to make traditional industries more
competitive with more market driven, productive and profitable.
Twenty six clusters have been identified for the Coir Sector for
the implementation of the project. These clusters are from
various coir producing states viz. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka,
Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Gujrath, Goa, West Bangal, North
East Region, A&N Islands and Lakshadweep. The scheme
started its implementation during the year 2005-06 for a period
